NHS Choices - NHS Choices is the UK’s biggest health website. It provides a comprehensive health information service that puts you in control of your healthcare. The website helps you make choices about your health, from decisions about your lifestyle, such as smoking, drinking and exercise, to finding and using NHS services in England. Along with articles and reports, the site offers hundreds of videos, interactive tools and listings that allow you to compare services, such as hospitals, GPs or dentists.


Darlington Clinical Commissioning Group - A group of Darlington GPs who work together to commission (or purchase) health services for patients. They represent all the practices in Darlington and all have experience in commissioning health services on behalf of our own patients as well as being GPs.


Darlington Adult Social Care – Information about Darlington Borough Councils Adult Social Care Department. The Department enables older people, carers, people with a physical, visual or hearing impairment, a learning disability or a mental health need to live as independently as possible in their local communities, help and support is available.


Darlington People's Information Point - People Information Point is a free and impartial service, which provides up to date and accurate information about all children and young people's service providers. On this site you can find comprehensive and up-to-date information on local organisations, services and events relating to children and young people, their parents and carers, as well as for the practitioners who support them. 


Care Quality Commission – Inspects services and publishes the results on this website to help the public make better decisions about the care they receive.


NHS England – The main aim of NHS England is to improve the health outcomes for people in England. Central to their ambition is to place the patients and the public at the heart of everything they do. NHS England aims for the NHS to be open, evidence-based and inclusive. NHS England encourage patient and public participation in the NHS, treat them respectfully and put their interests first. 


Healthwatch England– The independent consumer champion for health and social care in England. Working with a network of 152 local Healthwatch, we ensure that the voices of consumers and those who use services reach the ears of the decision makers.


Doc Ready - Doc Ready is a digital tool that helps people get the most out of their GP when they make an appointment to talk about Mental Health. 


Woodlands - BMI Healthcare - Provides private hospital care in County Durham with the best consultants. Woodlands Hospital is ideally located for patients looking for private hospitals in County Durham.


Local support organisations - Find local support groups via the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust website.

Darlington Association on Disability - A Centre for Independent Living. We offer support and services for disabled people, older people, people who have a learning difficulty or experience mental ill health. We can support people of all ages and impairments.  We exist to promote independence and choice.  We support disabled people and carers through the provision of services, support and information, and by tackling issues affecting disabled people both locally and nationally.


NHS and Social Care Complaints Guide from CAB - Care and treatment in the National Health Service is usually very good, but sometimes things can go wrong. These pages tell you how to go about dealing with a problem with the NHS. You can also find out how to go about dealing with a problem with adult social care.


Darlington Community MSK Service - The service provided by Connect Health, is for people with muscoskeletal conditions, including soft tissue, muscles, joints and ligaments. The team includes specialist clinicians covering all muscoskeletal specialist areas, who can provide a comprehensive assessment and a range of treatments and management plans within local health centres and GP surgeries. You can refer yourself into the service or be referred by your GP. To self-refer please call 01325 728988, where one of the team will register your details and arrange your first appointment, which may be face to face or a telephone appointment. 


Darlington Mind is a registered local charity that provides professional, confidential support and recovery services for people experiencing emotional or mental health problems and their carers.


DISC offers services covering drugs and alcohol, clinical services, housing related support, housing, employment, training and education, health and well-being, children, young people and families, women, criminal justice and community and offender rehabilitation. We run the MoreTime social enterprise. We're part of the Northern Inclusion Consortium. 


NECA is a registered Charity whose key focus is to improve the lives of individuals and communities throughout the region. For over 40 years NECA have supported and enabled thousands of individuals to sustain long term Recovery from substances and Gambling misuse.


Citizens Advice Darlington - We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination.


County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust - We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and in patients' homes.


UK Addiction Treatment Centre (UKAT) - We operate a free helpline called staffed by qualified counsellors and recovered addicts. Our purpose is to provide excellent care and treatment to enable all those suffering from addictive disorders to achieve a goal of life-long recovery. Our treatment centres provide comfortable and well-maintained accommodation and we have successfully treated hundreds of people affected by the negative impact of addiction. We treat addiction as an illness not a life choice and ensure that all our practitioners are highly trained and motivated to enable individuals to embark on a life changing process.

Healthwatch Darlington Limited is an independent consumer champion for health and social care in Darlington. The organisation helps to shape and improve local health and social care in our community. Healthwatch Darlington Limited is part of the Healthwatch national network, established by the Government to ensure local patients and users have a greater input to shaping and designing local services.
