The Eve Appeal - Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month - March 2019

The Eve Appeal is the only UK charity raising awareness and funding research in all five gynaecological cancers: womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. They were set up to save women’s lives by funding ground-breaking research which is focused on developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and screening – the things they know make a difference.

The Eve Appeal has grown and developed in parallel with their core research team, the Department of Women’s Cancer at University College London (UCL), taking place in 31 institutions across 15 countries. The world-leading research that they fund is ambitious and challenging but their vision is simple: A future where fewer women develop and more women survive gynaecological cancers.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month/Make Time for Tea

Every March, The Eve Appeal joins forces with the other ovarian cancer charities, including Ovacome, Ovarian Cancer Action, Target Ovarian Cancer, along with other organisations and activists throughout the UK, to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and its signs and symptoms.

Throughout the month they run Make Time for Tea, a campaign encouraging people throughout the UK to host tea parties and bake sales to raise money and awareness.  When people sign up, they give them a fundraising pack with everything they need to plan their tea party including a tea guide, a template press release, activity and fundraising ideas and a chance to order materials including posters and bunting. Now in its 13th year, Make Time for Tea has raised £982,303.70 to date. They’re hoping to go over the million pound mark this year.
