Your spotlight on local services

Would your school like the Healthwatch Darlington team to visit?

Healthwatch Darlington have been working with local colleges encouraging students to think more about their health & social care services. The team have been encouraging students to identify where they would go for information about their local services and sharing with them different ways they could do this.

Across the summer we have extended our engagement activities with various summer lunch/youth clubs speaking to 8-14 year olds. These visits have been a huge success.

The team will be reaching out to local primary/secondary schools from September 2019 to offer free engagement session to pupils aged 8-16 years old. Each session is a chance for young people to think about why it’s important to share their own patient stories and to learn how they can get support when they need it the most. All students will be provided with a small information pack which contains information about local community, health and mental wellbeing services to take home.

If your school would be interested in one of these visits please contact Jemma Austin on 01325 380145 or email j.austin@healthwatchdarlington.co.uk
