Since the start of the pandemic, there has been a vast increase in the number of hospital and GP consultations being offered via telephone, video calls and email. That's why Healthwatch England are launching a new project to explore whether people are receiving the help they need.

Healthwatch England are working with a group of 75 patients with recent experience of remote appointments, recruited from 16 areas across England. They will be exploring with them what has worked well and what could be improved. The results of this work will then be shared publicly and with health and care decision makers in July.

Later in the year, they will be conducting further research to look at the needs and experiences of those who may be being excluded by these new digital services. This is to ensure that no group is left behind by the NHS.
