The Eve Appeal - September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month!

Throughout Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, The Eve Appeal are running their annual campaign Go Red, and this year they are raising awareness of red flag symptom - abnormal bleeding.

Did you know...

Abnormal bleeding is a symptom of three out of the five gynae cancers - womb, cervical and vaginal - which together affect 12,750 women each year.

The Eve Appeal's Go Red survey found that 72% of women were not taught how to spot when something is wrong with their periods at school and, although 85% of women are comfortable talking about periods with their family and friends, 80% wouldn’t get an unexpected bleed checked immediately (Eve and Freeda Media poll).

The Eve Appeal has produced a set of tips in collaboration with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for Go Red, to help women track their vaginal bleeding and spot when something is abnormal for them so that they can seek the medical help they need, as soon as they need it.
