Real-d project video training modules for Healthcare Professionals

Diabetes UK have added 4 training video modules to their website, to support healthcare professionals in their consultations with people with diabetes and Learning Disabilities. The video modules are part of a four-part series of training modules that are a result of the Real-D project. Real-D was a project about making reasonable adjustments to diabetes care for people with a learning disability and it was funded by the British Medical Association and Leeds Community Healthcare Trust. These modules form an overall springboard for HCPs to think about their own practice. https://www.diabetes.org.uk/professionals/resources/shared-practice/for-people-with-learning-disability/real-d

Diabetes and Moving More

Diabetes UK have just updated their Diabetes and exercise web page to include more information around understanding your feelings around exercise and what activities to try if you're at home, on the move, working or if you have complications. Plus they highlight the benefits of moving more, and show people where to get more support if they need it.

They have also published Exercise and blood sugar levels – a new page to help people with diabetes feel more confident about managing their blood sugar levels when exercising. They look at how exercise can affect blood sugars and provide tips and advice to help users get started with moving more.
