Law requiring vaccination to work in a care homes to end

REGULATIONS LIFTED FROM THE 15 MARCH 2022
Newspaper

The Depart for Health and Social Care has announced that:

  • Regulations requiring COVID-19 vaccination to work in Care Quality Commission registered care homes will be lifted from 15 March.

  • Legal requirement for health and social care staff to be double jabbed from 1 April will be removed.

The announcement means that Healthwatch staff and volunteers visiting care homes while carrying out Healthwatch activity will no longer legally have to be vaccinated against COVID-19. However, it is still good practice to encourage people to be vaccinated.
