Public engagement events regarding relocation of the baby memorial garden

Consultations are to take place via 2 public engagement events on the proposal to relocate the baby memorial garden currently at University Hospital of North Durham - to allow for expansion of the emergency department - and you're invited.

Currently the emergency department is managing more than double the number of patients it was built to care for on an annual basis, therefore plans are in place to expand the existing department.

The CDDFT are filming a piece with BBC Look North to support this work and have shared information with other local press outlets.

They fully appreciate the sensitive nature of this project and that this is a very emotional project for those affected. They are making contact with those who they know have special connections with the garden, but hope that the press activity will encourage others to come forward and find out more about the plans or to become involved and help shape the plans.

They are holding two engagement sessions on:

Thursday 26th January at 5.30pm and;

- Monday 30th January at 12 noon

These will be held at University Hospital of North Durham.

Anyone interested in attending these or having an individual discussion about the plans can contact our patient experience manager on: paulabrennan@nhs.net or call: 0800 783 5774
