Golf in Society Sessions - Stokesley and Saltburn

Golf weekly sessions are set to begin at Stokesley Golf Club and at Saltburn for veterans/ reserves or anyone over 65+ who suffers with ill- health, physical and mental, including dementia or brain injury and mobility problems.

These golf sessions will commence:

- 25th April at Stokesley Golf Club times 10:30am – 12:30pm

- 16th May at Saltburn

All participants are required to register with Sporting Force – once registered the programme form needs completing too.

Carers and partners/spouses are actively encouraged to attend.

On the course the Golf will be delivered by qualified golf coaches provided by Golf in Society fully committed to improving players of all standards and abilities with excellent people skills.

In the club house Sarah will host the carers and family members, informal and friendly a time to unwind and get to know each other over a brew or two.

Golf in Society specialise in the design and delivery of person-centred golf sessions for people living with chronic illness such as; Dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Stroke recovery, Loneliness, DepressionFrailty and many more age related illness. Their specialised friendly golf sessions help to extend or start the golfing life of the participants. There is NO PREVIOUS GOLF EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.  The golf sessions stimulate the mind, body and soul, encouraging people to improve their health and general well-being.

These pilot programmes (which if successful we hope to continue) will run until September.

Golf Programme

Duration – 6 sessions over 6 weeks

The Programme is ideal for anyone who is interested in improving their wellbeing and learning how to play golf or for returners to the sport.

This programme starts for those new to the sport at how to hold a golf club & putting and can take you as far as you like, even to the point where you are playing like a professional

No Golf Experience Required

Each programme is tailored to the individual needs of the user and can be adapted to suit current health conditions.
