LGBT+ Awareness Workshops for professionals - Humankind

Following positive feedback from sessions held earlier in the year, NHS England have worked with Workforce, Training and Education (WTE – formerly HEE) to commission further LGBT+ Awareness Workshops for professionals, facilitated by Humankind.

4 sessions have been commissioned, with sessions taking place from August to November.

Places are limited, with only 20 places available on each workshop. They kindly ask that you only send one member of your team across the 5 dates initially.

The first session will take place on the 3 August, 9.30am-12.30pm and will cover;

  • Appropriate terminology for a range of sexual orientations and gender identities
  • Issues often faced by LGBT+ people
  • The legal and moral standpoint for LGBT+ inclusion
  • How to ensure LGBT+ inclusive practice

The training is free, and open to any professional supporting children and young people, including the voluntary care sector.

To book a place, please register here. Bookings will be monitored to ensure equitable access across North East and Yorkshire.

Details and booking links for later dates will be shared nearer the time.
