The following is an update from Becoming Visible

Request from a journalist student Alice O’Connell please contact her for further information aoconnell2@sheffield.ac.uk

My name is Alice and I am a training journalist from The University of Sheffield, I am in the process of putting together a print portfolio for my final year project. I have chosen to research and discuss how the mental health of deaf people is being treated and dealt with by the NHS and also wider society. I am hoping to interview a selection of deaf individuals who would feel happy and open to discuss their own personal stories and experiences with me further. I would be very grateful if you had people who you could put me in touch with or were able to send this request onto? I have information and consent forms which I would be happy to email and welcome any further questions about this.

Request from Mahi please contact her for further information mahi7syeda@gmail.com

I used to work at NRASS and attended the monthly network meetings.

I am now a 3rd year student at University of Sunderland, I am doing research on triad counselling: Deaf person, interpreter and counsellor and how their experience in counselling impacts them individually.

I am asking if any counsellors that have counselled a Deaf person are interested in being interviewed? This is 30-60 minutes and will take place face to face at University of Sunderland.

Info from RNID (please contact Paul Chappell Paul.Chappell@rnid.org.uk for further information).

RNID is working with a sponsor of Newcastle United to develop something new and exciting for how people with hearing loss can experience match days. We are seeking NUFC fans with hearing loss who would like to be a part of this project and who are happy to be filmed helping the sponsor develop the experience.

We are also interested to hear from 10-15 people who have not been to a match day in some time due to their hearing loss, and invite you to come to a game at the end of the season to experience what has been developed.

Info from DEN (please contact Craig Jones for further information)
