Live Theatre's Young Person Employability Programme coming to Darlington

A brilliant opportunity to take part in a FREE unique pre-employment programme, exclusively for young people leaving care is coming to Darlington and Teesside.

This programme has a different feel to classroom-based programmes which will appeal to some, and while delivered by theatre colleagues in a theatre space, the programme will focus on core pre-employability skills such as confidence & self-esteem, along with applications, interviews and CVs.  This is part of the NHS Universal Family Programme in the North East and North Cumbria supporting care leavers ages 16-25 into education, training and employment.

Sessions will take place at The Hippodrome Darlington 6pm - 8pm, on the following dates:

Wednesday 3rd September 2025

Wednesday 10th September 2025

Wednesday 17th September 2025

Wednesday 24th September 2025

Wednesday 1st October 2025

Wednesday 8th October 2025

Examples of what the workshops might include:

  • Creating a standout CV
  • Interview tips and tricks (looking at how to conduct yourself in an interview)
  • Mock interviews to give the participants a first-hand experience
  • Careers advice & where to seek help
  • A safe, supportive and familiar space

There are only 12 places on the programme however it's open to all care leavers age 16-25 across Teesside. Contact cypp@live.org.uk for more info or to book a place.
