Inpatient Information - Coming into hospital, and staying active in hospital

In an effort to combat inpatient deconditioning, physiotherapy teams in University Hospital North Durham, Darlington Memorial Hospital, and Bishop Auckland Hospital are distributing patient post cards with great information on ways to stay active during a stay in hospital. They have also released information advising patients to remember to bring their medicines when they come in for a procedure.

It is hoped that this will also encourage all staff to help patients to get active and not remain in bed unnecessarily.

If you have a stay in hospital you can use these handy tips below to stay active.

If you need further information while in hospital please contact your local physiotherapy team.
