SAS Kids: Supporting Young Lives Affected by Suicide

When a child loses someone to suicide or suspected suicide, the grief can be overwhelming and confusing. SAS Kids are here for you.

What Is SAS Kids?

SAS Kids (Suicide Awareness Support) is a heartfelt initiative by the If U Care Share Foundation dedicated to supporting children and young people through one of life’s most difficult experiences.

It is a bespoke, non-clinical bereavement support service designed for children aged 6 and up who have been bereaved or impacted by suicide or suspected suicide. The program focuses on practical activities that help children regulate the intense emotions that often follow such a loss.

Who Is It For?

To access SAS Kids, the child must:

  • Be aged 6 or older
  • Have an understanding that the person died by suspected suicide

This ensures that the support provided is appropriate, meaningful, and tailored to the child’s emotional and cognitive needs.

This service is different from the TATT (Darlington Mind) as they offer suicide bereavement support and practical activities, rather than counselling.

If you know a child who could benefit from this support, reach out to the If U Care Share Foundation via email: share@ifucareshare.co.uk
