Darlington Parent Carer Forum - Inclusive Football Match Opportunity
Darlington Parent Carer Forum is proud to partner with Darlington Town Football Club following their successful collaboration on the Mission Christmas Appeal.
The following is from the Darlington Parent Carer Forum.
Through ongoing community engagement, we’ve heard from many families that some children and young people with additional needs would love the chance to experience watching football, but often find larger matches overwhelming and inaccessible. We've worked with our friends at Darlington Town FC, who strongly believe football should be accessible for all, and we're delighted to share that we will be offering funded places for local (home) matches with:
✔ Reserved accessible seating
✔ Designated entry gate (no crowds or turnstiles)
✔ Accessibility info & photos of key staff before the match
✔ Easy-read match day programmes
✔Players Meet and Greet
We hope this opportunity gives young people the chance to experience football at their own pace -whether they stay for the whole match or just a few minutes, there's no pressure, just the freedom to give it a try.
