Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag

North East & Cumbria Learning Disability Network would like to make you aware of the Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag. Under the Equality Act 2010, publicly funded health and care services have a legal duty to make changes in their approach or provision to ensure that services are as accessible to people with disabilities or long term conditions as they are for everybody else - These changes are called reasonable adjustments.

The reasonable adjustments digital flag is for all people who are entitled to reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010. This includes people with a physical disability, sensory disability, learning disability or a long term condition such as dementia, with substantial and long-term (12 months or more) adverse effect on normal day to day activity.

The reasonable adjustments digital flag has started to be rolled out. It aims to be fully rolled out by September 2026. This means the different digital systems in different parts of the health and care services will be able to see the reasonable adjustments information from the National Care Record Service.
