HAF - Holiday Activities and Food during summer holidays for children who receive benefit-related free school meals
Darlington Borough Council is thrilled to announce an exciting Summer Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme. HAF, funded by the Department for Education (DfE), is available to children aged 5-16 years, who live in the borough and receive a benefits-related free school meals.
They have arranged over 150 sessions, with 5000 available places running every weekday throughout the summer holidays - from Monday 20 July until Thursday, 27 August.
Sessions will take place in various venues around the town and include a mix of sports, creative activities, and fun trips - and every session includes a healthy meal.
Children and young people with additional needs are encouraged to attend - dedicated SEND sessions will be available at Beaumont Hill Academy, Eastbourne Sports Complex and DC bowl.
Important information for children with SEND: Children with SEND, who don't receive benefits-related free school meals, can be referred by a school or healthcare professional if they would benefit from the programme.

If you think your child is eligible, but you haven't heard anything, please contact your school directly.
