Adult social care: Lived Experience Report

We are pleased to share the Adult Social Care: Lived Experience Repprt which provides valuable insights into our local Adult Social Care services and highlights areas of success and potential improvement.

The report presents reassuring findings, showcasing positive responses in several key areas. By understanding these positive experiences and extending them to all service users, we can ensure that Darlington Borough Council continues to deliver exceptional service to those who need it.

The report emphasises the importance of empowering service users, supporting their independence, and ensuring safety. Additionally, service delivery teams working together contribute to delivering an excellent experience.

Participants reported positive experiences when the following criteria were met:

·       Continuity of workers.

·       Clear communication before, during, and after visits or assessments.

·       Friendly and caring staff who listen and are patient.

·       Appropriate involvement of family members.

·       Follow-up actions as promised.

Conversely, the absence of these criteria led to some unsatisfactory experiences.

We look forward to collaborating with Darlington Borough Council's Adult Social Care service and supporting any further work needed to advance this initiative.
