The Sparklers - Fortnightly Group on Friday mornings

There is a good deal of evidence to support the fact that singing is good for everyone and it has been shown to be particularly beneficial especially for people with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s.

The Darlington The Sparklers group meet fortnightly on a Friday morning, 10:30 – 12 noon in the Library at Elm Ridge Methodist Church, Darlington run by experienced music leader Jane Ford. They focus on breathing exercises, vowel formation and gentle movements before moving on to a lively, fun session of singing well-known tunes.

People with Parkinson’s (at all stages of development), their carers and families are all welcome at a cost of £3 per person which includes a drink and a snack. Absolutely NO experience is necessary and you definitely do not need to be a good singer! This is about having fun, exercising the muscles which produce vocal sound and feeling good!

Please contact Jane on 07707 847289 or email for more information.
