Home from Hospital affordable warmth schemes

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £15.4 million in grant funding to more than 103 charities across England, Scotland and Wales.

These grants have enabled charities to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Almost 20,000 households have been helped by the Energy Redress Scheme so far.

One service that has recently been funded is a Home from Hospital Service, to consider energy related money issues and energy efficient adaptations when people are being discharged from hospital.

Further information is available from https://energyredress.org.uk/announcements, plus information regarding how to register to apply for funding through further rounds of the Scheme.

Darlington Borough Council would like to consider the development of a similar service in Darlington, potentially also considering the identification of people who are at risk of hospital admission due to factors linked to a poor quality home environment exacerbating health conditions.

If your organisation may be interested in submitting a bid, please contact Lisa Holdsworth (Commissioning Officer at Darlington Borough Council) by Friday 4th September:
