Youthwatch Darlington volunteers meet members of the Soroptimists to talk about 'Body Image

Our volunteers from Youthwatch Darlington (Jessica , Amy and Emily) along with our Senior Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator Jemma Austin, were recently invited to talk to Darlington Soroptimists and regional members about our 'Body Image' campaign.

Youthwatch Darlington launched a social media campaign, advice and information, blog and positive messages on our website and our other platforms in an effort to help young people in Darlington who may be worried about 'Body Image'. This followed after overwhelmingly 153 out of 196 young people told us they think body image contributes to poor mental wellbeing: https://www.healthwatchdarlington.co.uk/advice-and-information/2020-07-03/body-image

Our volunteers also got to find out about the Soroptimists and how they have been helping during the pandemic. They have been making face masks, helping foodbanks and looking at awareness raising about human trafficking.

Thank you to Darlington Soroptimists for making this happen and thank you to our fantastic volunteers for making a difference to young people in Darlington.
