Tees Valley Sport - Funding applications now open

Tees Valley Sport are a distributer of the Together Fund on behalf of Sport England - with up to £5,000 for community organisations to develop physical activity opportunities to support groups and communities to become more physically active.

The Together Fund is part of a range of measures to help the sport and physical activity sector through the coronavirus crisis. The money is committed to help groups that were disproportionately affected by the pandemic and had limited ability to become or continue to be physically active.

Movement and physical activity can be used to support people to address their physical and mental health and wellbeing, to increase community cohesion and integration and to build confidence, capacity and resilience. This fund is not just about sport and sports clubs, even a little bit of activity can help people to feel more positive. Walking, dancing, cycling, yoga, family fun sessions all have a part to play in getting us to move more.

Bids can be up to £5000 but typical projects are costed between £2,000 - £4,000. The timescales for the programme have recently been extended so that applications have to be approved by the 30th March 2023 and all delivery has to be completed by the 30th September 2023. However it should be noted that this is a finite pot of funding and awards are ongoing.

The documents - available to download below - give an overview of the fund and a simple application form. If you are interested in applying and want to discuss a proposal then contact Louise Morris on l.morris@tees.ac.uk.
