Do you want a say in how health and care data is used for research?

An exciting new opportunity for 10 members of the public is open. This NHS-led programme is looking for members of the public to help their decision making about how health and care data is used for research and development.

If you’re passionate about research, privacy, or want to understand more about how health and care data can be used to benefit research and development - then the programme would love to hear from you.

 

Expected duration of task:

Appointments will be up until 31st March 2025 with a maximum of one meeting per month. Each meeting will be two hours and paid time is allowed for preparation as well.

There will be a mix of virtual and in person meetings.

In total it is expected that up to around 7-8 hours a month of time is needed.

The majority of meetings will take place during usual business hours however some might take place during evenings.

Meetings will be planned out 12 months in advance so you would know all the times and dates for the future meetings.

 

Reward and recognition:

Payment is £27 per hour plus travel expenses.

 

Training, development and support:

A full induction programme and support are provided to public members who are on the Secure Data Environment governance.

 

Timeline:

The programme groups are being established and will begin between June and October 2023.

The deadline for applications is 31 July, we will shortlist over the summer holidays and then interviews will take place in early September.

An induction programme will be one full day for all public members to attend in person will take place in October. Details about timings for the induction will be circulated on appointment.
