CDDFT Launches New Perinatal Pelvic Health Service

County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to announce the launch of the Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS) supported by NHS England funding and developed in partnership with the LMNS.

The service supports anyone who is pregnant or within a year of giving birth, offering assessment and treatment for issues such as incontinence, prolapse, and pelvic girdle pain. Clinics are running at UHND, SBH, BAH, and Sedgefield, with plans to expand classes to family hubs.

Midwives will now use a Badgernet tool to screen during pregnancy and after birth. Referrals can be made by GPs, hospital doctors, midwives, health visitors, or directly by patients. Enhanced one-stop clinics will run with consultants Mr Bradley and Miss Harris, supported by new physiotherapists and specialist equipment.

Further information about the service, as well as information on symptoms, treatment and useful tips to manage your pelvic health please visit the PPHS webpage.
