NRASS Rebrand to Sensory Support UK – Name Change and Expanded Service

North Regional Association for Sensory Support (NRASS) are excited to share that NRASS has rebranded as Sensory Support UK and they look forward to marking this new chapter together.

The following is directly from Sensory Support UK.

This change reflects our renewed commitment to inclusive, rights-based support for people with sensory loss across the North East and beyond. Alongside our new name, we’re expanding our service offer to better meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities.

While many sensory loss services are converging around similar models, we are intentionally stepping ahead, filling the gaps where specific needs remain unmet. Our team is fully qualified and accredited, with the necessary expertise and experience to deliver high-quality, rights-based support. We believe that using suitably qualified, accredited, and quality-assured services is essential when supporting our client group, and Sensory Support UK is proud to lead the way rather than follow.

Our updated services now include:-

• Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) – Supporting individuals and families with accessible, rights-based information and signposting
• Advocacy – Supporting individuals, families, and groups with educational, health, and social care matters
• Mentoring – Peer-led and professional mentoring for confidence, wellbeing, and life transitions
• Mediation – Facilitating resolution in relationships, SEND services, employment, and general disputes
• Healthy Relationships Advice – Trauma-informed guidance for individuals and families
• Financial Guidance – Support navigating benefits, budgeting, and financial well-being
• Consultation – Advice on Access to Work, reasonable adjustments, and inclusive workplace practice
• Accessibility & Awareness Training – Deaf awareness, sensory loss and disability awareness for organisations and professionals
• Transitional Support – Helping young people and families move from child to adult services
• Access to Justice – Promoting equitable access to legal support and rights-based services

We remain committed to delivering information and advice services, alongside our regular drop‑in support, across the regions where we are currently contracted. As new funding opportunities arise, we look forward to extending these services into additional areas.

In addition, we are establishing co‑production groups to shape our future work together. We warmly invite expressions of interest from anyone who would like to contribute by joining our committee.
