Darlington Memorial Hospital - Parking Update
Construction has begun at Darlington Memorial Hospital to introduce a new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.
The following is from CDDFT.
We recognise how challenging parking has been for everyone and appreciate how often this has been highlighted by colleagues. Work is now moving forward and we’d like to share an update on the next steps.
While initial construction is taking place, there will be no change to the location of staff parking. Once works in the new staff car park are completed staff will be required to utilise this space to allow works to the NEW visitor car park to be complete and for visitors to occupy this space.
During construction
- Parking will remain open
- Please continue to park in marked patient and visitor areas
- Continue to purchase tickets from the machines
- Temporary signage will be in place where needed
What will change?
Once the new system goes live:
- There will be no paper tickets
- Visitor parking will all be in one location
- Visitor parking will be one way flow; visitor entry will remain the same with exit at the other side of the car park
- Cameras will read your vehicle registration on entry and exit
- You will pay at a machine before leaving by entering your vehicle registration number
- Clear signage and on-site support will be available
Further information will become available as work progresses.
