Connecting Carers Project with Darlington Carers Support

Using technology can bring about anxiety and can cause a person to feel very overwhelmed. For unpaid carers this adds further pressure to an already stressful job. Darlington Carers Support run a Connecting Carers Project, which offers free, 1-to-1 tech support for unpaid carers living in Darlington.
If you're speaking to a carer who says things like:
“I’m no good with emails”
“This tech stuff goes over my head”
“Everything seems to be moving online — I’m lost”
…this could be a great opportunity to refer them to Darlington Carers Support.
They support carers at their own pace, helping reduce anxiety around technology and making digital tools work for them. Some of the areas they can help with include:
- Staying in touch with friends and family (e.g. video calls, messaging apps)
- Finding information online
- Online safety and scam awareness
- Using NHS services online (e.g. prescriptions and appointments)
- Exploring hobbies and entertainment
