Durham County Carers Support are incredibly proud to offer a free Counselling Service to Carers who need emotional support as they navigate the challenges of their caring role. This service has become a vital lifeline for many — offering a safe, confidential space for Carers to talk, reflect, and strengthen their resilience.

All this week is Diabetes week, encouraging a focus on essential care and shining a light on the regular health checks you will have when living with Diabetes.

Carers Week takes place from 9-15 June 2025 across the UK. Established by Carers UK, Carers Week is an annual awareness raising campaign which recognises the vital contribution made by carers.

People in the North East and North Cumbria who find themselves in crisis can now access urgent support by text message, thanks to a new partnership between the region's NHS and the national mental health provider Shout.

Across the North East and North Cumbria, organisations have come together to establish a Housing, Health, and Care Programme to build on the collaborative work already underway to tackle and mobilise on this important issue. The programme is the region's sector-led improvement initiative focused on delivering better, more integrated housing, care, and support so that people can be healthy, live well, and stay independent in their own home.
